Can professional oven cleaning companies clean self-cleaning ovens?
The question is often asked of professional oven detailing companies – can they clean ‘self cleaning’ ovens. These days, there are many different brands of ovens on the market. The last 10 years have seen the emergence of the ‘self-cleaning oven’. The technology for self-cleaning ovens is continuously improving, with some excellent brands available.
While the concept of a self-cleaning oven appears to mean that no oven cleaning, either by a general cleaner, or a professional oven cleaning company, would be required, this is in fact not the case.
A self cleaning oven, also known as a pyrolytic oven, is an oven that locks itself for cleaning. The oven when locked heats up to 350 degrees and when the cycle has finished, leaves the ashes on the bottom that need to be wiped away. However, the metal side panels and racks need to be removed before using the self cleaning function otherwise they will lose their colour or shine.
Not only do self-cleaning ovens not clean the grill, stovetop or rangehood, like professional oven and barbeque detailing companies do, but with self cleaning ovens, the racks and side panels need to be removed before turning on the self cleaning function, leaving the racks and side panels to be cleaned manually.
Professional oven cleaning companies can clean self cleaning ovens without interfering with the self cleaning function. Often people still choose to get their self cleaning oven professionally cleaned because the racks and plates still require cleaning, or because the self cleaning function no longer works, or the person cannot remember how to use the self cleaning function. Often people use the self cleaning function in between professional oven cleaning company visits.
Can professional oven detailing companies clean ovens with self-cleaning components?
There are two kinds of self-cleaning ovens. There are ovens with ‘self-cleaning components’ and ovens that are completely self-cleaning. What is the difference between an oven with self-cleaning components and a self-cleaning oven? And can professional oven cleaning companies clean self-cleaning ovens?
An oven with self-cleaning components means that the plates have a special coating. The plates cannot be cleaned, but the professional oven detailing company can rinse the plates, taking care not to scrub the plates, otherwise the special coating is removed and the self-cleaning components will no longer work. If an oven with self cleaning components has self cleaning plates that are dirty, it means the self-cleaning components have been damaged and they no longer function. For ovens with self cleaning components it is best to get a professional oven detailing company to clean the oven to ensure the self-cleaning plate technology is not interfered with.
Professional oven detailing is becoming increasingly popular as the results that can be achieved are far superior to what general cleaners can achieve. Professional oven cleaning is also still used for ovens with self cleaning components and self cleaning ovens and doesn’t affect the technologies of these types of ovens, providing a reputable oven and barbeque cleaning company is used.
